Mighty Auto Parts – originally founded in 1963 as M-T-Y (Manufacturer-To-You) – started out as a network of local and regional suppliers to the automotive service industry. From the beginning, Mighty has offered the industry a direct sourcing model for preventive maintenance, common use auto parts, shop supplies, oil, chemicals, and lubricants for vehicles.
In 1970, Mighty employed the franchising model, recruiting independent owners for growth and expansion.
In 1993, automotive-related service companies began adding Mighty franchises to their company portfolio to complement their existing operations with the expertise and efficiency of our business model. In 2009, Mighty began to expand internationally.

Dallas “Dick” Wallace begins selling tire repair products from his VW Beetle in Washington D.C.

1970
Mighty Auto Parts awards our first franchise, taking a unique route to success.

1979
Mighty Auto Parts moves our headquarters to Atlanta, where the airport makes it easier to maintain in-person relationships with a growing franchise base.

1983
Mighty Product Center opens. The facility now provides 98% order fill with less than a 48-hour turnaround.

The first strategic franchise joins the Mighty franchise system – a tire dealer in Savannah, GA

Mighty joins the Gonher Group unlocking many synergies and growth opportunities

2012Mighty expands globally beginning in the Middle East where we now supply more than 700 locations

2019Mighty adds distributor in Latin America and celebrates its 10th consecutive record sales year with a 59% average sales per franchise increase

Over the years, Mighty has been recognized as a top franchise by The Wall Street Journal, Franchise Business Review, and The Atlanta Business Chronicle, just to name a few. We are also consistently recognized by National Oil & Lube News magazine as one of the top brands in the industry.
Today, Mighty supports a nationwide network of franchises and company operations located in 44 states serving more than 15,000 automotive service facilities. Headquartered just outside of Atlanta in Peachtree Corners, Georgia, Mighty also supports operations in Canada, Mexico, Saudi Arabia, Guatemala, and Puerto Rico. Our automotive franchises – consisting of individual business owners, tire dealers, quick service specialists, car dealerships, and automotive-related distributors – operate specialty wholesale distribution warehouses in exclusive, protected territories.
